In the Eclipse Nite you have the unique opportunity to discuss technical questions and problems with well known Eclipse experts in an open setting. Thus, you will find expert discussion roundtables dealing with particular topics, such as Web Development, Modeling, Business & Eco-System, RCP, JDT, and BIRT. The numerous Eclipse experts will give you valuable tips and best practices. The Eclipse Nite will be moderated by Eclipse Evangelist Wayne Beaton and serves with several short talks youll find beneath.

20.3020.40h
20.4020.55h: Ralph Mόller discusses the pro's and con's in using Open Source software, introduces in established maturities in Open Source software adoption, and describes why Eclipse is well appropriated for the industrial acceptance.
20.5521.10h: Feedback from the community is the lifeblood of Eclipse projects. They thrive on it. One of the most important mechanisms for providing feedback is Bugzilla. During this presentation, we'll discuss how you can use the Eclipse Bugzilla to report your feedback to the developers though the creation of bugs and feature requests.
21.4021.55h: CVS (Concurrent version system) is the most commonly used revision system. Eclipse offers a very mature integration for CVS. Although most developers should be familiar with this iteration and how to use, many developers do not know about some powerful features that can make your life (and the one of your team mates) a lot easier.
21.5522.10h: A paradigm shift in the software development within Harman Becker is in progress. The use of Eclipse is gaining momentum and is beginning to displace the heavy use of Microsoft Visual Studio which was the IDE of choice in the past. This paradigm shift was initially triggered by the introduction of the QNX RTOS with its Eclipse-based Momentics IDE. It has been accelerated by the introduction of the MoCCA application framework with its MDA tooling.
22.4022.55h: Standards-based tool integration enables organizations to quickly and efficiently integrate their tools, instead of being forced to buy poorly suited proprietary suites from single vendors. By integrating their tool chains, organizations are able to make their development process more measurable, more streamlined, and ultimately more effective. To support this strategy, Compuware is leading a strategic project within the Eclipse Foundation, called Corona. Corona is a server-side framework that enables Eclipse-based tools to collaborate with each other.
22.5523.05h: Imagine a world where enterprise software tools could be connected as easily as plugging in a USB device. This talk will introduce the Eclipse Application Lifecycle Framework (ALF) Project. You will learn how it works, how you can exploit it and how you can help by being part of the ecosystem. Come and hear the ALF evangelist tell you why a consortium of the industry's leading vendors are collaborating to make this a reality this year. There will also be a guest appearance from the project's mascot.
